Our advice

As the shape and fitness of each horse varies, the use of a saddle pad should be considered - especially for horses that do not have much development in their back muscles, or if the horse is lacking muscle mass in certain areas. Horses change their shape about 5 times during their lifetime.

Since its debut in 2008, our popular Hrimnir Pro model has satisfied many different types of riders. Its medium deep seat suits all riding styles and gives the rider the freedom to find a balanced position.

The knee blocks are placed under the saddle flap for extra comfort. They offer good support and steadiness for the leg.

A double layer of leather in the flap keeps the flap soft and flexible, and offers good grip.

The additional layer of BayFlex® foam in the soft seat makes this saddle very comfortable for the rider. Therefore, this saddle is also a good choice for long distance riders, or riders who get sore easily.

The high quality DuPont® saddle tree and the BayFlex® foam padding guarantee optimal weight distribution on the horse’s back, strength and flexibility of the saddle, and maximum comfort for horse and rider. The expert design lets the horse move freely and allows harmonious and sustainable riding, helping the rider to sit in balance and to give fine- tuned aids in close contact with the horse.

The BayFlex® foam padding conforms to the horse’s back during riding, but always retains its original shape again after usage. This ensures a long lasting fit for different kinds of horses, and makes sure that the saddle pads always stay symmetrical. This soft but strong material offers optimal shock absorption and protects the back of the horse.

The XChange® gullet plate system makes it easy to adjust the saddle width yourself in six easy steps for individual conformation, or changes in the horse.

The Billet system and balance strap ensures increased stability of the saddle and an extra pair of girth straps give the option to attach an additional single girth in front of the regular girth. The extra girth can provide more stability in cases of poor balance of horse or rider.

I have had two of these saddles for many years now and I am very happy with them. I am in Australia and do mostly trail riding and a few shows with my Icelandic horses. These saddles are very comfortable, fit all three of my horses very well and are very supportive for riding up and
down hills. I have also ridden a Timor pony in this saddle and although she is a different shape, it fitted her too. I would definitely recommend this saddle for any Icelandic rider (and Timor owner too)

This saddle exceeds all my expectations, I use it on very long rides without any problems, the saddle also fits well with my competition horses, it is supporting me and my horses on the correct way.
