In the second part of the series on how to prepare a young horse for the saddle, Sigvaldi Lárus Guðmundsson (FT Riding teacher from Hólar University & head trainer at Kvistir) moves the work with the three-years-old Garpur frá Kvistum from the box to the round pen. Correct positioning and timing of the aids play a crucial role when teaching the youngster to move out from signal, as for example when moving the hind legs.
